1: Joseph’s generation died. Sons of Israel multiplied. New king of Egypt doesn’t know Joseph. Egypt enslaves Israelites.
2: Pharaoh: Kill all newborn Hebrew boys. Moshe born. Placed on Nile. Pharaoh’s daughter finds & adopts. Mother nurses.
3: Moshe grows up. Kills Egyptian. Escapes Egypt to Midian. Saves Yitro’s girls. Marries Zipora. God hears cry of Israel.
4: God reveals Himself to Moshe at burning bush & appoints him to speak to Pharaoh & release Israel from bondage.
5: Moshe resists appointment. God turns staff to snake, makes hand leprous & cures. Says bro Aaron will speak for Moshe.
6: Moshe heads to Egypt. Strange event at hotel. Moshe & Aaron meet by Mountain of God. Then gather elders of Israel.
7: Moshe & Aaron to Pharaoh: Let my people go celebrate to our God in the desert. Pharaoh: No. Give them more work.

1: God to Moshe: Promises to uphold covenant of Patriarchs. Will free Israelites from slavery & bring them to Canaan.

3: God warns Moshe: will harden Pharaoh’s heart & not let Israelites go. Moshe 80 & Aaron 83 yrs old when meet Pharaoh.
4: Aaron turns staff to crocodile. Pharaoh’s mages’ staff also transform. Aaron’s eats mages’. Plague of Blood & Frogs.
5: Lice: Pharaoh’s magicians admit “finger of God”; “Arov”: plague of wild animals. All plagues only affect Egyptians.
6: Pharaoh & Moshe negotiate. Moshe asks to sacrifice to God. Pharaoh’s heart hardened. Plagues of Pestilence, Boils.
7: Moshe warns of Hail. Egyptians that believed him put servants & animals indoor & spared. Hail mixed with fire falls.

1: Moshe to Pharaoh: Give in, let my people go worship God, or locust will come & eat everything left over from the hail.
2: Locust come, blot out the sky & consume everything. Pharaoh recants. Moshe removes. Then plague of Darkness for 3 days.
3: Pharaoh says Jews can leave, but without cattle. Moshe insists. God says: 1 last plague & “borrow” stuff from Egyptians.
4: Prediction of Death of 1stborn. Commands: 1st month. Pascual lamb. Blood on doorposts. Matza. No leavened bread 7 days.
5: Moshe instructs elders for Pesach night (sacrifice, bloody doorposts, stay indoors, will protect from death). Jews obey.
6: Death of 1stborns. All Egypt clamor: Jews leave. “Lend” gold, silver, garments. Jews make Matza. Laws of Pesach night.
7: Laws: Sanctity of 1stborn; remember day of Exodus; children will ask, tell them God took us out with mighty hand; tfilin.
#Beshalah
1: Jews leave Egypt. Moshe takes Joseph’s bones. Pharaoh realizes freed Jews, takes army w/ 600 chariots & pursues.
2: Egyptians catch Jews w/ back to sea. Jews panic. Moshe: Don’t worry. God will fight for you & destroy them.
3: Pillar of smoke & fire between Jews & Egypt. Moshe raises staff, strong wind from east blows overnight. Sea splits.
4: Jews cross the sea on dry land. Egyptians followed, sea drowns them all. Moshe and Jews sing Song of the Sea.
5: Jews get to desert. Complain to Moshe that starving. God announces will rain down bread from heaven upon them.
6: Quails cover Israelite camp in evening, Manna falls at dawn. Enough Manna per person/day. 2x on Friday for Shabbat.
7: No water. Moshe draws from rock. Amalek attacks Jews. Moshe sends Joshua to fight. When Moshe’s hands raised, win.
#Yitro
1: Moshe’s father-in-law, Yitro, heard about miracles, brings Moshe’s wife & 2 sons to meet in desert. Yitro blesses God.
2: Moshe judges Jews from morning until evening. Yitro says: not good. You need to delegate & create strong judiciary.
3: Moshe follows Yitro’s advice, appoints men of substance as judges/ministers of 1,000, 100, 50 & 10. Yitro goes home.
4: Month 3 after Exodus, Israel at Mt. Sinai. Moshe goes up mountain. God tells him to say: If keep My covenant, Chosen.
5: Jews: “All God says, we’ll do.” Moshe: Prepare 3 days. Smoke & fire on Mt. Sinai. Sound of Shofar grows stronger.
6: I am God. Don’t have others. Don’t take My name in vain. Sabbath. Parents. Don’t: kill, adultery, steal, lie, covet.
7: Jews saw voices, Shofar, smoking mountain, trembled, stood back: “Moshe, you talk to us & we’ll listen, lest we die.”
#Mishpatim
1: Hebrew slave works 6 yrs; released 7th. If want to stay, stays until Jubilee. Killer is killed, unless accident.
2: Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, etc. (Oral tradition explains that means compensation for monetary equivalent).
3: Laws of damages, borrowers, thieves, renters, seduction, witchcraft, bestiality, idolatry, lending & more.
4: Give God 1stborns. DON’T: curse judges, princes; eat Treif meat; false witness. Do help w/ lost or laden animal.
5: Don’t favor poor in court or take bribes. Stay far from lies. Don’t work land 7th yr. Rest Shabbat. 3 Pilgrimages.
6: God: Sending angel w/ you to destroy enemies in Canaan. If you listen to Me, I’ll bless you & destroy enemies.
7: God: will drive enemies out of your land slowly. Moshe goes up to Mt Sinai 40 days; leaves Aaron & Hur in charge.

1: God: Gather gold, silver, copper, threads, skins, wood, oil, spices, gems to build Me a Sanctuary; I’ll reside w/ you.
2: Details for making Ark cover with Cherubim. God will speak to Moshe from atop cover. Instructions for Showbread Table.
3: Menora: 7 branches, 1 piece of gold. Mishkan: 10 curtains of colored linen & wool. 11 curtains of goat hair over it.
4: Mishkan: Planks of acacia wood: 20 on south, 20 on north, 6 on west + 2 corners. 2 silver sockets under each plank.
5: Dividing curtain over 4 pillars, between Ark (Holy of Holies) & the Holy which has Table on north & Menora on south.
6: Altar: acacia wood, 5×5 cubits, 3 cubits tall; copper-plated horns at corners; copper-plated poles at sides to carry.
7: Courtyard: N & S 100 cubits long, 20 pillars; E & W 50 cubits long; pillars had silver bands & hooks & copper sockets.

3: For Aaron: Robe, blue wool; Tzitz of gold on forehead. Kohens: linen tunics, sashes, hats & pants, lest die in Holy.
4: Induction of Kohens: Annoint Aaron. Dress Kohens. Sacrifice 1 bull, 2 rams, unleavened bread, loaves, wafers w/oil.
5: Sacrifice of 2nd ram. Kohens put their hands on ram, slaughter it, put blood on right earlobe, thumb & big toe.
6: Daily sacrifice: 1yr old lamb; 1/10 fine flour w/1/4 hin olive oil; 1/4 hin wine. AM & afternoon. God sanctified.
7: Incense altar: Acacia wood, 1×1 cubits x 2 cubits tall, gold overlay & crown, 2 rings, 2 poles. Bring incense daily.

3: Moshe: “God! If I found favor in Your eyes, Your Presence needs to come w/ us; if not, how will we be distinguished.

6: Making coat & Tzitz of Kohen Gadol; tunics, caps, pants, sash for Kohens. Finished Mishkan. Moshe blesses.
