Personal election plea

If you’re still debating who to vote for, I will now make a personal plea. Vote Zehut.

I spent twelve years on the Central Committee of the Likud. I know most of the players, their philosophies and principles (or lack thereof). I have been delving deeply into policy issues since I arrived in Israel more than 20 years ago, including a stint in a political think tank, where I was involved in efforts to promote a constitution in Israel (which we still don’t have) among other policy initiatives.

Those of you who know me, will know that I did not come to my political conclusions by reading a few articles, by skimming a few posts, by believing what the agenda-driven media wants us to consume. I have been enmeshed in policy explorations deeply and consistently for many years now.

I believe with all my heart and all my soul that Zehut is not only the best choice, but the only choice in this coming election. Everyone has different priorities, different motivations, different concerns and desires, but in my opinion, there is only one party that will best protect the interests of the average Israeli. A party that is not sectorial, that is trustworthy, that will actually do what it says it will do. That has red-lines but will also intelligently navigate the politics of give-and-take while keeping its word.

To make matters much more interesting, I have a seat at the table. I’m on the front line. There is a very real chance, despite what the skewed polls are publicizing, that I can be in the incoming Knesset. The range of support that we’re seeing is incredible. People from every single demographic segment in Israel, including Arabs, are supporting Zehut.

I can go on and on about all the different aspects of Zehut that are attractive and important. I can try to summarize the monumental manifesto, that in itself testifies to the seriousness of the party and the people. Those who are interested can read it. Those who have particular questions or issues, I’m happy to answer them as time permits.

This election is very personal to me. If you’re unsure or even aren’t particularly moved or convinced by any particular party, then let my personal request tip the scale. Yes. Please (I asked nicely). Do it for me.

Vote Zehut.
